I'm on holiday or visiting loved ones

A faster, cheaper alternative to the 600, but only for certain passports.
My passport doesn't need a visa.
NZeTA
Required before travel, even though it isn't a visa.
ETA (601) or eVisitor (651)
Depends on your passport, not your travel purpose.
I'm coming for business, not to work
Business Visitor Visa
For meetings, conferences or exploring business opportunities, not paid work.
Visitor visa (600), Business stream or ETA/eVisitor if your passport qualifies
Covers the same non-work business activity.
Not sure which one's yours?
Visitor visas often come down to your passport as much as your plans.
What we do
- Finding your passport's eligible visitor option.
- Telling you plainly what you can and can't do on it, like paid work.
- Letting you know before you travel if something needs fixing first.
- Preparing your application or your NZeTA or ETA, and handling any questions from immigration.
Common questions
Can I work while I'm visiting on a tourist visa?
No. Visitor visas across both countries don't allow paid work. Business visitor categories allow meetings and negotiations, but not being paid for work done while you're there.
Do I need a visa or just an ETA?
It depends on your passport. Some passports only need New Zealand's NZeTA or Australia's ETA or eVisitor; others need a full visitor visa. We'll check which applies to you.
How long can I stay?
Most visitor visas and electronic travel authorities allow stays of up to three months per visit, though total time allowed over a year can vary. We'll confirm the limit for your situation.
Can I apply for a different visa while I'm already here?
Sometimes, it depends on the visa you're on and what's changed. A visitor visa doesn't let you work or study, so if your plans shift, we'll help you work out what's actually possible from here.
Here for something more than a visit or need another kind of support?
Here's where else to look.
