- Finding the right study visa for your situation.
- Checking your course and provider meet visa requirements.
- Staying with you through the course, and into what comes after.
- Preparing your application and speaking with immigration on your behalf.
Common questions
How many hours can I work while studying?
It depends on the country and your course level. In New Zealand it's generally up to 25 hours a week during term; in Australia it's 48 hours per fortnight. Both allow full-time work during scheduled breaks.
What English test score do I need?
It depends on your course and institution, undergraduate and postgraduate requirements differ, and scores are usually only valid for two years. We'll check the exact requirement for the course you have in mind.
Can my child study while I'm here on a different visa?
Sometimes, and it depends on your own visa. If your child is the one studying and you're coming to support them, that's usually its own visa, not something added to yours. We'll talk through which applies.
Do I need to know my exact course before I apply?
Not always. Some pathways, including the Pathway Student Visa, now let you confirm the qualification level first and settle the exact course later. We'll tell you if that applies to your situation.
Not studying or need some help settling in?
Here's where else to look.
